This is a Brand Name Only requirement for 2014 Food Frequency Questionaire (FFQ) and other nutrient analysis services required by US Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine (USARIEM), all qualified vendors are encouraged to submit a quote. The US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) requests responses from all qualified sources as defined in the Performance Work Statement (PWS) (see attached document). In order to capture a thorough history of nutrient intake of the warfighter in various environments, a validated questionnaire is required. For a number of years, the US Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine (USARIEM), has used the 2014 FFQ for USARIEM scientists to complete their protocols. This tool meets the needs of the scientists by providing intake data in terms of daily intake of macro and micro-nutrients, food groups, MyPyramid food groups, Glycemic Index and load, and Percent of calories from nutrients over a 6 month timeframe. Additionally, it provides the volunteer intake reports and Healthy Eating Index Variables, which are all valuable sources of information that the scientists use for reporting in publications. In addition to the quality of the service and the data that is acquired from the analysis, USARIEM requires continuity in data collected; there has been a longstanding use of a validated 2014 Block FFQ by USARIEM scientists, and continuing use of the same nutrient intake tool in future protocols strengthens the scientific integrity of the data and the ability to compare findings across studies.
