The following action is to be competed by the U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA), located at Fort Detrick, MD, in support of the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID), located at Fort Detrick, MD, for Brand Name Leica HistoCore AutoCut Automatic Rotary Microtome and associated products and maintenance services. This announcement constitutes the solicitation by USAMRAA, Fort Detrick, MD as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) and offers must be submitted in writing (oral offers will not be accepted). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2020-08 effective 13 August 2020. DESCRIPTION: This action is to be competed to fulfill the need of USAMRIID. USAMRIID has a requirement for one (1) HistoCore AutoCut Automatic Rotary Microtome - Configuration 1, one (1) Top Tray, one (1) Foot Switch, one (1) Power Cord and one (1) Service Maintenance Package. See the attached document for the required delivery date and delivery address. This brand name only acquisition is being competed using full and open competition. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 339113 – Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing with a Size Standard of 750 employees. This brand name only requirement is solicited on an unrestricted basis and is NOT set aside for small businesses. No hard copies of the solicitation will be issued by this contracting office. All interested parties can view, download and print a copy of the solicitation and any resulting amendments from the beta.sam.gov website. All contractors wishing to do business with the Department of Defense must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM. Contract award shall be made on a competitive basis using Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) procedures. The attached document referenced above ("Combined Synopsis Solicitation") includes all clauses and provisions incorporated into this Request for Quotation as well as the Instructions for the Preparation and Submission of Proposals, Instructions to Offerors and Evaluation Factors.
