The Regional Health Contracting Office - Pacific, in support of Osan Air Base, Korea intends to make a sole source award to Hologic for the purchase of a Panther Plus Lab Analyzer for Osan Air Base, Korea. Hologic is the sole provider of the Panther Plus Analyzer used for conducting various lab testing in Korea. The authority permitting this award without providing full and open competition is cited in FAR 13.106-1 (b)(1)(i) which authorizes the government to award contracts when there is only one source reasonably available (e.g.urgency, exclusive licensing agreement, brand name or industrial mobilization).
