The Regional Health Contracting Office – Pacific, in support of MEDCOM, intends to make a sole source award to BioMerieux, Inc. for the purchase of microbial identification (ID), antibiotic susceptibility testing (AST) cards, and VITEK MS reagents for use with Government-owned VITEK 2 XL Automated Microbial Identification System and VITEK MS Automated mass spectrometry microbial identification system, and lease of Virtuo B-Unit module for Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii. The results are used to determine the antibiotic treatment most appropriate for the patient, and to monitor changes in bacterial resistance to antibiotics. The NAICS code is 325413. This requirement is for a period of performance from on or about 1 Oct 2022 through 30 Sep 2023 (12-month base period). The statutory authority permitting this award without providing full and open competition is FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) which authorizes the government to award contracts when there is only one responsible source, and no other suppliers or services will satisfy agency requirements. This announcement fulfills the synopsis requirements under FAR 5.201 and 5.203. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotes. Information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government.
