The Regional Health Contracting Office – Pacific, in support of Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC), Hawaii intends to make a sole source award to Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics Inc. for the purchase of Blood Gas Analyzers & Reagents. These analyzers and reagents are the only analyzers and reagents that can meet the Government’s need. Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics Inc. is the sole provider of the Blood Gas Analyzers and Reagents. The authority permitting this award without providing full and open competition is cited in FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) which authorizes the government to award contracts when there is only one source available (e.g. urgency, exclusive licensing agreement, brand name or industrial mobilization).
