The Regional Health Contracting Office - Pacific, in support of MEDCOM, intends to make a sole source award to John Bean Technologies (JBT) Corporation for a firm fixed-price for items and components to upgrade the Automated Transport System (ATS) at the Madigan Army Medical Center, Washington. The statutory authority permitting this award without providing full and open competition is FAR 13.501(a)(1)(ii) which authorizes the government to award contracts when there is only one responsible source and no other suppliers or services will satisfy agency requirements. This announcement fulfills the synopsis requirements under FAR 5.201 and 5.203. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of qualified sources and whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. The NAICS code is 333999. Your response to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method. The Government intends to award a Firm Fixed-Price contract to the successful quoter. Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC) has a requirement for an Automated Transport System (ATS) that is compatible with the current system (JBT Corporation) to prevent downtime of services provided. The system serves the clinics and departments for the distribution of medical supplies, and linen. System also serves as transport of rubbish back to logistics. System will be an upgrade to the current outdated system, using the same contour navigation methods (wire guided), and paths currently in place, and provides rechargeable lithium-ion batteries while providing new automated guidance vehicles, new system computers, new network and updated software, compatible with current lifts and doors located throughout the facility.
