The Regional Health Contracting Office – Pacific, in support of Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC), Hawaii, intends to make a sole source award to Covidien Sales LLC for the purchase of GI Bravo Probe FGS-0634. These supplies are the only ones that can meet the Government’s need. Covidien Sales LLC is the sole provider of the GI Bravo Probe FGS-0634 for the evaluation of patients off PPI therapy, which is clinically beneficial in patients with refractory GERD. The authority permitting this award without providing full and open competition is cited in FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) which authorizes the government to award contracts when there is only one source available (e.g. urgency, exclusive licensing agreement, brand name or industrial mobilization).
