The Regional Health Contracting Office – Pacific, in support of Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC), Hawaii, intends to make a sole source award to Cascade DAFO, Inc. for the purchase of Cascade Dynamic Ankle-Foot Orthoses (DAFO). These supplies are the only ones that can meet the Government’s need. Cascade DAFO, Inc. is the sole provider of the Cascade DAFO for patients with severe orthopedic, neurological and/or sensory related impairments. The authority permitting this award without providing full and open competition is cited in FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) which authorizes the government to award contracts when there is only one source available (e.g. urgency, exclusive licensing agreement, brand name or industrial mobilization).
