The Regional Health Contracting Office - Pacific, in support of Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC), Hawaii, intends to make a sole source award to Fidelis for the urgent purchase of Getinge Acrobat and Vasoview supplies for the Department of Surgery at TAMC, Hawaii. The physician requesting the supplies has verified the need for these products to ensure the best possible outcome for the patient. Therefore, these surgical supplies are the only ones that can meet the Government's current need. Fidelis is the sole provider of these Getinge supplies. The authority permitting this award without providing full and open competition is cited in FAR 13.106-1 (b)(1)(i) which authorizes the government to award contracts when there is only one source reasonably available (e.g. urgency, exclusive licensing agreement, brand name or industrial mobilization).
