The Regional Health Contracting Office - Pacific, in support of Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC), Hawaii, intends to make a sole source award to Bard Medical for the purchase of Arctic Gel Pads for the Arctic Sun Gel Machine for TAMC, Hawaii. The Arctic Sun Gel Machine is owned by the Government. Therefore, these supplies are the only ones that are compatible and can meet the Government's current need. Bard Medical is the sole provider of these Arctic Gel Pads. The authority permitting this award without providing full and open competition is cited in FAR 13.106-1 (b)(1)(i) which authorizes the government to award contracts when there is only one source reasonably available (e.g. urgency, exclusive licensing agreement, brand name or industrial mobilization).
