The Regional Health Contracting Office - Pacific in support of Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii intends to make a sole source award to Nihon Kohden America, Inc. for the purchase of Nihon Kohden Polysmith DMS System. This system is the only system that can meet the Government's need. Nihon Kohden America, Inc. is the sole provider of the Polysmith DMS System. The authority permitting this award without providing full and open competition is cited in FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) which authorizes the government to award contracts when there is only one source available (e.g. urgency, exclusive licensing agreement, brand name or industrial mobilization.)
