Pursuant to FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), the U.S. Army, MEDCOM, Regional Health Contracting Office-Pacific (Joint Base Lewis-McChord Health Contracting Branch), Lacey, WA, intends to issue a sole source firm-fixed award under solicitation W81K0221Q0242 to Medtronic Inc. for a one (1) year base period and two (2) one (1) year options, for a total of three (3) years, with an estimated value of $$271,065.00. The services being acquired are qualified technicians to perform maintenance and repair services for Government owned Stealth 7, 8 AxiEM Stereotactic Systems to ensure that optimum operation and efficiency of the equipment is maintained, and that proper functioning of the equipment conforms to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standard specifications. Based on market research, no other sources can meet the government's current requirement and therefore, it is not possible to compete this acquisition. However, in the future, the JBLM-HCB, along with MAMC, will continue to perform market research to monitor any changes in the status of this requirement. This notice is not a request for quote/proposal and no solicitation will be issued. Any firm that believes it can provide the stated supplies/equipment can provide supporting documents demonstrating their products capabilities and specifications.
