INTRODUCTION The Regional Health Contracting Office-Pacific is issuing this sources sought synopsis as a means of conducting market research to identify parties having an interest in and the resources to support the requirement for an Entomology Lab Specialist for US Army Medical Department Activity, US Army Garrison Humphreys, Pyeongtaek, Korea. The intention is to procure these services on a competitive basis. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF POTENTIAL OFFERORS TO MONITOR THE GPE FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION PERTAINING TO THIS REQUIREMENT.” PROGRAM BACKGROUND The Entomology Section, Department of Force Health Protection & Preventive Medicine, USAMEDDAC-K, requires services to assist with a comprehensive mosquito-, tick-, and rodent-borne disease surveillance program. REQUIRED CAPABILITIES The contract entomologist shall conduct arthropod- and rodent-borne disease surveillance. The entomologist shall have a minimum three (3) years (full-time) experience in working in an entomology laboratory curating and processing arthropods for rearing, identification, and other related entomological skills. The entomologist shall also have a minimum of three (3) years (full-time) taxonomic experience for identification of Culicoides spp. (biting gnats). ELIGIBILITY The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is 541690 with a Small Business Size Standard of $16.5M. The Product Service Code is B529. Businesses of all sizes are encouraged to respond; however, each respondent must clearly identify their business size in their capabilities statement.
