Any requests for a solicitation in response to this notice will not be honored. Submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary; the government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred. The US Army Medical Command, Regional Health Contracting Office-Central, Fort Hood Contracting is issuing this sources sought synopsis as a means of conducting market research to identify qualified sources prior to the release of any potential solicitation for the brand name or equal of the following: Nickel Free Total Joint Implants and Instrumentation System The salient characteristics are as follows: Must FDA Approved. Item should reduce operative time. Item should be proven to reduce operative time. Item should be highly wettable, abrasion resistant and low friction ceramic surface. Item should have long term mechanical and chemical stability. Item should have hardness, lubricity and abrasion resistance. Item should use oxidized zirconium. Item should be a ceramic surface that provides wear resistance without brittleness.. Item should be damage tolerant and have fatigue strength. Item should be able to use on patient who cannot tolerate implants that contain Nickel (Cobalt-chromium) The contractor’s capability statement are authorized. Proprietary information, if any, should be minimized and MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED. Any interested vendor must provide documentation stating they can provide specified supplies. To aid the Government, please segregate proprietary information. Please be advised that all submissions become Government property and will not be returned. It is anticipated that the proposed this equipment will result in a Firm-Fixed Price contract. The proposed North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 339113, Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing, FSC - 6515, Medical and Surgical Instruments, Equipment and Supplies, with a corresponding size standard of 750. BASED ON THE RESPONSES TO THIS SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE/MARKET RESEARCH, THIS REQUIREMENT MAY BE SET-ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESSES, PROCURED THROUGH FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION OR SOLE SOURCE.
