The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Engineering Research and Development Center-Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (ERDC-CERL) Research has a requirement for accessory components for its existing 2D-2C High Resolution Particle Imaging Velocimeter (PIV) thermal anemometry system. The government requires: Six (6) tri-axial crossflow thermal anemometry probes are needed for measurements of turbulence. Two (2) probe supports, which the anemometry probes can be attached to. Only two supports are needed since only two anemometry probes will be in use at a time. These accessory components are needed to support a new research project that requires fine-scale measurement of velocity fluctuations in wind. The tri-axial anemometry probes allow for measuring velocity along three axes, while the crossflow component allows for measurements in relatively confined spaces. The research team will be utilizing a PIV system that was procured from Dantec Dynamics back in September 2020. The necessary components can only be purchased from the original manufacturer of the base unit, and therefore Dantec Dynamics has been determined as the only source that can fulfill all the government’s requirement. This is not a request for proposal and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract. Any interested party that believes they can fulfill this requirement should submit a capability statement to be reviewed. All submissions will be considered, however there is no guarantee that submissions in response to this notice will in any way alter the Government’s acquisition strategy. Please provide responses to this notice no later than the date listed above: CERL-CT-QUOTES@usace.army.mil Telephone responses will not be accepted. Responses to this notice will not be considered as a response to any solicitation, a request to be added to a prospective offerors list, or to receive a copy of any solicitation. A determination by the Government not to compete the contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
