Overhaul/Repair of this item requires that the contractor receive source approval from the Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC) Systems Readiness Directorate (SRD). Therefore, inspection/overhaul can only be performed by an approved source in accordance with Defense Federal Acquisitions Regulations (DFARS) Subpart 209.2 - Qualification Requirements which implement quality control provisions of aviation critical safety items as stated in Public Law 108-136, dated November 2003. The statute requires overhaul by a source approved by the DEVCOM AvMC SRD Currently, the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) ,The Boeing Company (CAGE Code: 8V613) is the only known approved source for the inspection/overhaul.
