Request for Information (RFI) for the Air Soldier Gateway Mission Router (GMR) THIS IS A RFI ONLY. This is Sources Sought (SS)/Request for Information (RFI) for market research. Information is to be used for preliminary planning purposes in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10. The Army Contracting Command – Redstone Arsenal, AL intends to issue a solicitation for manufacture of hardware. This announcement does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) and does not commit the Government to solicit or award a contract now or in the future. Further, the Army is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Respondents are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party’s expense. Purpose: The Product Manager Air Warrior (PM AW) is seeking to identify interested parties capable of providing a Non-Developmental Item (NDI) solution equivalent in form, fit, and function to current Air Soldier Gateway Mission Router (GMR) air and ground variants. The purpose of this RFI is to gather information regarding potential alternative sources that may warrant further consideration in the execution of future contract actions. The attachment to this RFI provides a high-level technical description, including key physical characteristics and required electrical interfaces, of the GMR. Any future action on the part of the government will be based upon established GMR performance specifications and Interface Control Documents and the level of qualification of any respondent’s candidate product. Description: PM AW, as the configuration manager of the GMR, has a requirement to provide on-aircraft data routing in support of Army Aviation. The GMR must be capable of providing secure Wi-Fi Ethernet and USB interfaces to enable network end clients and be able to interface with tactical hand-held, data capable radios. In addition to providing access to tactical networks via standard interfaces, the GMR will provide an Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) providing real-time civil air traffic and weather. Submissions can be through written correspondence and/or electronic mail. Responses should include, at a minimum: • Name and address of the respondent’s company or organization; • A Point Of Contact within the respondent’s company or organization; • A brief description of the product; • A description of the level of qualification to Army air and ground platform requirements; • A description of the product’s production maturity level; • A description of how the product meets the requirements in this RFI; • The estimated lead time from award of a production contract to delivery of a fully qualified product; • Manufacturing capacity per month using a single 1-8-5 shift; • A ROM production unit price for a quantity of 60 to 500 units per year, to include the identification of any known economic order quantities.
