Request for Information (RFI) for Apache Helmet Assembly, part number A12872-XX THIS IS A RFI ONLY. This is Sources Sought (SS)/Request for Information (RFI) for market research. Information is to be used for preliminary planning purposes in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10. This announcement does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) and does not commit the Government to solicit or award a contract now or in the future. Further, the Army is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Respondees are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party’s expense. Purpose: The Product Manager Air Warrior (PM AW) is seeking to identify interested contractors capable of manufacture and delivery of a qualified Apache Helmet Assembly, part number A12872-X and SPARES. The responses to this RFI will be used to gather information that may be able to fulfill the PM AW’s needs. Background: PM AW, as the configuration manager of the helmet for Army Rotary Wing crew has a requirement to provide helmets in support of Apache Aviation. PM AW is seeking Apache Helmet Assembly part number A12872-XX and associated parts. The helmet assembly will be fielded to Apache Block III crew and to Apache flight school crews. PM AW expects to begin procurement in 3nd quarter FY22 for fielding in FY23. In order to meet the timelines for fielding, any contractor must have a qualified/or nearly qualified system. The Apache Helmet Assembly must be in accordance with drawing A12872-XX and in accordance with Purchase Description, Aircrew Integrated Helmet System, HGU-56/P (AIHS), FNS/PD 96-18. Instructions: Request that interested parties provide a written response to this RFI NLT 1 March 2022 to eddie.l.gordon6.civ@army.mil and Tarshalyn.m.sanders.civ@army.mil. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted or acknowledged, and no feedback or evaluations will be provided to companies regarding their submissions. Submissions can be through written correspondence and/or electronic mail. Responses should include, at a minimum: • Name and address of the interested company or organization; • Contact information for the primary POC; • A brief description of the potential offeror’s company/organization and candidate product; • A description of how the potential offeror’s product either currently meets or how it could be qualified to meet the Air Warrior requirement; • A Rough Order Magnitude (ROM) cost and time estimate to complete any qualification to Army Aviation requirements; • A ROM for production leadtime from contract award to system delivery; • Production capacity per month on a 1-8-5 shift. • ROM for production unit price for a quantity of 400 to 600 units per year.
