The United States Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM), Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Center Research and Technology Integration (RTI) Directorate seeks Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 5+ (or less with a maturation plan) solutions for networked Group 1 (<20 lbs.) small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS) payloads and dismounted handheld target location devices. This effort aims to enhance threat detection, improve concept of operations (CONOPS), and support Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T) by integrating air and ground assets for collaborative threat detection within a Common Operating Picture (COP). The desired system shall enable intra-squad data relay via a tactical communication interface, integrate and share targeting data with other battlefield assets via cross-cueing, and ultimately improve situational awareness and reduce cognitive burden. Responses to complete systems or individual subsystems (UAS payload or handheld device) are welcome.
