THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE for the Selector, Fire Control Assembly. The U.S. Army Contracting Command- Warren, Detroit Arsenal is conducting market survey to identify companies with experience in small arms manufacturing and associated technologies (corporate knowledge, technical expertise, facilities, manufacturing equipment, and product acceptance test hardware) to determine possible sources for the manufacture of Fire Control Selector Assembly, US Army Part Number 13060592, NSN: 1005-01-673-4242. This requirement is in support of the M4/M16 series of weapons. The Fire Control Selector Assembly is for the M4/M4A1 Carbine and is produced to a Government Technical Data Package (TDP). The Fire Control Selector Assembly improves Soldier interface, suitability and effectiveness, by adding a selector switch for SAFE/SEMI/FULL on both the left and right sides of the lower receiver. The selector assembly is an integral component to the safe operation of the weapon system. Features of the selector assembly are designed to integrate with lower receiver components to effectively and efficiently allow the Operator to confidently maneuver from SAFE to SEMI to AUTO (or BURST). Several features of the selector assembly integrate with multiple other components within the lower receiver, any non-conformity introduces operational risk. Therefore, it is incumbent upon the offeror to thoroughly review the Technical Data Package and fully understand the production/manufacturing requirements to ensure high quality and proper assembly into the end item. The following is being provided for planning purposes in response to this sources sought notice. . Should a competitive solicitation be released, the resulting contract type would be a one-time, Firm-Fixed Price buy with 100% option. A future contract shall require the successful completion of a First Article Test, and ongoing Lot Acceptance Tests. Should a resulting contract be awarded, the First Article Sample would be submitted to the Government 180 days after contract award, and monthly production deliveries would commence within 30 days after Government approval of the First Article Sample. Production Deliveries would be a quantity of 4,000 per month.
