State and Federal regulators have directed Pine Bluff Arsenal to complete additional ecological surveys to ensure that Pine Bluff Arsenal's original remedies completed at Defense Environmental Restoration Program(DERP) restoration sites remain protective. The additional surveys will be performed in the same media as are currently included in Task 001 of contract W52P1J-16-P-3075: Sediment, Surface Water, Fish Tissue and Report Production. Great Lakes Environmental Center (GLEC), awardee of the current W52P1J-16-P-3075 contract will be the only vendor asked to conduct the additional surveys. However, all responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency. Should GLEC conduct the additional surveys, duplication of the effort and cost will be prevented, and will help ensure that Pine Bluff Arsenal meets the regulatory testing and reporting deadline.
