The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to find qualified vendors who have experience manufacturing Polymeric Elastomer, Thermosetting Compound (Tough Seal). This announcement is in support of market research performed by the Army Contracting Command - Rock Island to determine interest and capability to provide the supply delineated within this RFI. This RFI is for informational purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to procure any supplies, or for the Government to pay for the information received. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this RFI or any follow-up information requested. Consequently, no solicitation is being issued at this time. Therefore, no award will be made as a result of providing this information. McAlester Army Ammunition Plant (MCAAP) has a proposed requirement for this material. Vendors interested in this acquisition must meet the criteria for Federal Supply Code (FSC) 8030, Preservative and Sealing Compounds, Adhesive and Sealants, and North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 325520, Adhesive Manufacturing. It is anticipated that a subsequent procurement will be a firm-fixed-price contract and may be an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contract for a period of three years. All deliveries will be on an FOB Destination basis. The proposed requirement is Polymeric Elastomer, Thermosetting Compound (Tough Seal) and the product shall be in accordance with MIL-DTL-82633A. Any potential vendor must be qualified prior to award. Request responses to the following be provided: 1. Statement of your firm's intention to bid and how it intends to meet the requirements stated above. 2. Provide DUNS, CAGE Code, Tax ID, Point of Contact, and number of employees (for business size verification). 3. Type of Socioeconomic Business Class (Examples: Disadvantaged, Veteran Owned, HubZone, Women Owned, 8(a), ANC, NHO, etc.). 4. Manufacturing plant name and location (for qualification country status verification). 5. What are your specific manufacturing skills that will ensure your capability to perform the requirement? 6. Does your firm use brokers, or authorized distributors to distribute your product, or is your firm willing to sell directly to the Government? 7. Has your firm produced and delivered an approved, qualified, tested and acceptable Tough Seal product to the U.S. Government before that met the specifications contained within MIL-DTL-82633A? 8. If #7 is yes, provide the provide the following information: Name of Government agency, Government contract number, dollar value, length of time product was provided, Government point of contact information such as name, phone number, and e-mail address. If #7 is no, qualification testing and approval is needed prior to submission of proposal/award.
