Tooele Army Depot (TEAD) has a requirement for Three (3) Ammunition Peculiar Equipment (APE) 1405 Afterburners- New Build. The U.S. Army owns and operates hazardous waste incinerators designed to dispose of explosives and ammunition items. Incinerators are classified as hazardous waste incinerators under the Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT) and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). The incinerators are subject to federal and state EPA regulations and are operated under EPA permits, which vary from state to state. In order to eliminate Volatile Organic Compounds, these hazardous waste incinerators also include thermal oxidizers, or afterburners. As a part of this project, TEAD is purchasing the design and will retain total ownership rights to the design. The contractor shall be responsible for delivery of equipment to TEAD, designed and manufactured in accordance with the Government Equipment Description.
