The U.S. Army Contracting Command – Rock Island, on behalf of the Project Director for Joint Bombs, awarded a sole-source firm-fixed price contract to DCX-CHOL Enterprises, Inc., hereafter referred to as ElecSys, Pekin, IL, for FY 20-24 requirements for the M70 Series Cable Assemblies, which consists of the following configurations: ITEM NSN PART NUMBER M72 Cable Assembly 1325-00-633-5264 7542966 M73 Cable Assembly 1325-00-633-5262 7542967 M74A Cable Assembly 1325-01-081-6972 7542968 These cables are required to support the U.S. Navy. M70 Series Cable Assemblies are used as the support for both the combat and training requirements by transferring power and communication between aircraft to bomb fuzes, and target detecting devices used to initiate an explosive. This proposed sole-source contract is under the authority of 10 United States Code 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. As implemented by FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), when the supplies or services required by the agency are available from only one responsible source, or, for DoD, NASA, and the Coast Guard, from only one or a limited number of responsible sources, and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, full and open competition need not be provided for.
