The U.S. Army Contracting Command – Rock Island (ACC-RI), on behalf of the Office of the Project Manager for Combat Ammunition Systems, intends to issue a Section 8(a) Small Business Set-Aside solicitation for production of 105mm Wood Boxes. This contract will be issued via the Small Business Association’s (SBA’s) Section 8(a) Program; the projected value of this effort is $43,074,845.60. The contract will be composed of five (5) one (1) year ordering periods. The intended contract will be Fixed-Price with Economic Price Adjustment (FP-EPA) and will support FY24-29 requirements. Funds are available for this acquisition. This notice of intent is NOT a FORMAL REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) and is only a Synopsis for the acquisition and production of the 105mm Wood Boxes. INTRODUCTION The U.S. Army Contracting Command - Rock Island (ACC-RI) on behalf of Program Manager, Combat Ammunition Systems (PM-CAS) is conducting a Market Survey for sources interested in the manufacture of the 105mm M1 Wood Box, NSN: 8140-01-077-2004, Part Number: 9271047 in accordance with MIL-DTL-2427H. It is anticipated that this action will be a Small Business Set-Aside. This requirement shall be a Firm Fixed Price, Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity contract for five years covering FY25-29. The estimated quantity to be purchased over the five (5) years is 93,234 EA 105mm Wood Boxes. DISCLAIMER THIS MARKET SURVEY IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. ITEM DESCRIPTION The 105mm Wood Box is used to transport and store 105mm artillery cartridges. The wood box being procured through this action accommodates two each PA55 Fiber Containers, which contain a 105mm M1 HE artillery round. Nominal inside dimensions of the box is 32.0" x 10.375" x 5.25". The box will be nailed, with a hinged cover and external rope handles. The box will be heat treated, have preservative applied, and appropriate markings stenciled. The minimum guarantee will be identified in the solicitation. MARKET SURVEY NOTICE SUBMISSION DETAILS Interested companies who feel that they have the necessary capabilities should respond by the closing date providing the following information: 1) Description of Facilities, Personnel, Manufacturing Capabilities and how they directly relate to the 105mm M1 Wood Box; 2) Estimated minimum and maximum monthly production capacities, and the minimum procurement quantity required for production; 3) If they are currently manufacturing this item or have made this item or similar items in the past; 4) Respondents must also demonstrate that they have the capability to manufacture a wood box to include heat treatment with approved stamping; (5) Address if manufacturing resources are shared with other item/production lines and identify the approximate amount shared. A Technical Data Package (TDP) is not currently available for this announcement; however, one will be made available should a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) be released at a later date.
