This is a Request for Information (RFI) only and does not constitute a commitment implied or otherwise, that the Industrial Policy, Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment (IBAS) Program within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Industrial Base Policy (ASD(IBP)) will take procurement action in this matter. Further, IBAS will not be responsible for any cost incurred in furnishing information. This RFI is being used to gather market research for IBAS to make decisions regarding Solid Rocket Motor prototype qualification to address supply chain and cost issues. IBAS will use the results of this RFI to determine the current large Solid Rocket Motor domestic industrial base capabilities for future production. Additionally, this information will be used to develop preliminary cost estimates and an acquisition strategy. Background: The United States lacks the domestic industrial base to produce Solid Rocket Motors at the quantities and price points required to support Navy Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) and Army Long Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW) programs. Requirement: The Department of Defense requires the establishment of an additional domestic manufacturing source of Solid Rocket Motors to alleviate the current capacity constraints and cost drivers the Navy CPS and Army LRHW programs have to meet an operational need by 1st QTR CY26. The required Solid Rocket Motors shall be a drop-in replacement/form, fit, function replacement for existing CPS/LRHW motors based on the following high level properties: a. Two-stages b. Dimensions: Diameter: ~34.5 inches; Length: complete motor set ~300.5 inches Contract Type Considerations: The Government anticipates issuing a single Firm-Fixed-Price Other Transaction Authority (OTA) agreement.
