Additionally, the following clarification has been requested: Question: Is there a possibility to repair the backflow preventer rather than replacing? Answer: No, the backflow shall be replaced per the Scope of Work. The existing backflow preventer is leaking and requires replacement. The Contractor shall provide all construction services and materials to replace the existing Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ) backflow preventer with a double-check (DC) valve backflow preventer. The backflow preventer is in an aboveground outdoor enclosure within a secure area. The removal of the existing unit and installation of the new unit shall occur on the same day. Contractor shall provide all material, labor, equipment and supervision required to perform the scope of work detailed in the attached SOW. Please note that a firm-fixed priced contract is anticipated and is subject to the Davis Bacon Act.
