The Viavi / Aeroflex ATC-1400A-2 is a Transponder/DME microprocessor based bench tester developed for comprehensive testing and troubleshooting of ATC (Air Traffic Control) / Transponder equipment and DME (Distance Measuring Equipment). The ATC-1400A can be operated either manually using the front panel controls and switches, or remotely by ATE control utilizing the GPIB interface. The control settings on the T-1401-2 front panel determine the mode of operation. Selecting Ground-to-Air (G/A) Mode enables the Identification and Equalizer pulse pairs. The ATC- 1400A-2 also sends mode information when connected to the T-1401-2 through the Aeroflex Bus. ATC- 1400A-2 mode information includes Identification On/Off, Equalizer On/Off, X/Y Mode and P1 and P2 pulse spacing.
