Selfridge Air National Guard Base, 48045 MI, intends to issue an Invitation for Bids to award a single firm fixed-price contract for services, non-personal, to provide all plant, labor, transportation, materials, tools, equipment, appliances, and supervision necessary for the Construction of VGLZ 232004 Repair Exterior Envelope Bldg. 507. This project is a construction requirement to repair a water utility at Selfridge ANGB MI. The pump house, building 507, was built around 1945 to assist in moving drainage water from Selfridge Airbase to the Clinton River. As the building has aged it has deteriorated and needs repair. Excess moisture is entering the building in various places: roof, walls, doors, and other openings. Rainwater and surface ground water find weaknesses in the building envelope to enter. To protect the building integrity and equipment inside, this project shall repair the building envelope to mitigate moisture penetration to the interior. As the building is of historical significance, special care shall be taken in the repair work to maintain the historical character of the building and its elements.
