The Maine Air National Guard’s 101st Security Forces Squadron seeks to acquire 20 tactical communication headsets on a brand name or equal basis, with the 3M Peltor COMTAC series as the standard. Any equal product must meet specific salient characteristics, including ARC rail helmet integration, talk-through environmental listening, at least a 23 dB noise reduction rating, a noise-canceling ambidextrous boom microphone, amplified PTT adapter with NATO/military wiring, and compliance with MIL-STD-810H and MIL-STD-461G.
