The Maine Air National Guard 101 ARW MSG/MSC located in Bangor, ME intends to solicit and award a firm fixed price purchase order to GelSight Inc., 179 Bear Hill Rd, Ste 202, Waltham, MA 02451 for the purchase and delivery of one (1) Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) handheld 3D tactile sensor that allows for surface level topographic measurement of any surface with accuracy down to 1 micrometer. GelSight Inc.’s proprietary elastomeric sensor is the only one of its kind and there are no other authorized resellers or distributors. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, or proposal, which shall be considered by the Government. The authority for this procurement falls under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(1). GelSight, Inc. is the only known source who can meet the Government requirement. A Limited Source Memorandum was approved 27 August 2024 explaining that GelSight Inc. is the only source capable of providing the required equipment. The redacted document is attached to this notice. The applicable NAICS code for this effort is 334516, the small business size standard is 1000 employees and the PSC Code is 6635.
