DC ANG anticipates the solicitation and award of a contract to provide Aircrew Self-Defense Training Vest at Joint Base Andrews, MD. This Sources Sought notice is to determine if there are an adequate number if qualified, interested small business concerns capable of responding to this sources sought that provide a product that meets the salient characteristics. The contractor will provide training vest with the following salient characteristics: -Rifle Dedicated Blank Round Conversion Kit -Electronic Integration Device -Specified Equipment carrying Case -Vest System Belt Feedback Shocking Device -Arm Pad Shockers -Individual Goggle Sensor -Pistol Dedicated Blank Round Conversion Kit -Rifle and Pistol Laser Attachments -Rifle and Pistol Laser Inserts -Rifle and Pistol Compressed-Gas Blanks The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) coded for this work is 334419, Other Electronic Component Manufacturing. The small business size standard is 500 employees. In accordance with FAR 19.5, Set –Aside for Small Business, the Government will review the information requested in this announcement to determine the type of set-aside (if any) for this requirement. Small Business concerns who believe they can responsibly perform this requirement should complete and submit the Sources Sought Information Form to the Contract Specialist no later than 4:00 p.m. EST, 28 August 2020. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS: Responses to this SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS/MARKET RESEARCH STUDY shall include the interested firm’s name, address, and point of contact, phone number, email address and Small Business size status. Interested firms must provide a brief capabilities narrative explicitly stating if the company has the ability to produce a vest that accurately records the location, time, and amount of the firearms hits and provide instant feedback to the student wearing the vest. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All contractors proposing on Department of Defense solicitations must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database prior to award of the contract. The purpose of this database is to provide basic business information and capabilities to the Government. The SAM website can be accessed at www.sam.gov. You are encouraged to register as soon as possible.
