The 117th Air Refueling Wing intends to aw ard a firm fixed-price contract for the construction of a new Security Building, as per Specifcation and Drawings Dated June 2024. Project Number BRKR009063 includes sitework, subgrade excavation, building foundations, architectural, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and relocation of existing utilities for a new approximatly 9,941 square foot building. The project Magnitude is betw een 5,000,000 - 10,000,000. The North American Industry Classificaion System (NAICS) for this project is 236220. The Small Business Size Standard is $45,000,000. This award is 100% set aside for Small Business. The award will be made to the responsible bidder w hose bid conforms to the invitation for bids, and is most advantageous to the Government considering only price and price related factors. Funds are currently available. A pre-bid conference will be conducted 18 Jul 2024, 10:00 am Central Time for the purposes of briefing on the bid requirements and answering questions regarding this solicitation. This conference will be held at 5401 East Lake Blvd Birmingham, AL 35217, building 700 Civil Engineering classroom. THIS IS NOT A SOLICTATION FOR BIDS NAICS Code: 236220 - Commercial and Institutional Building Construction The USPFO for Alabama intends to issue and Invitation for Bids to award a single firm fixed-price contract for construction services, non-personal, to provide all plant, labor, transportation, materials, tools, equipment, appliances, and supervision necessary for the construction of a 9,941 square foot building housing the Base’s Security Forces Sq. The new building’s structural system includes slab on grade undercut/pad preparation, Load bearing CMU walls supporting premanufactured light gauge steel trusses, metal roof decking, and standing seam metal roof systems. The facility is clad in clay masonry and cast stone matching adjacent facilities. Steel reinforced aluminum curtain wall window systems meeting the anti-terrorism/force protection requirements of UFC 4-010-01. A mechanical platform consisting of concrete floor over metal decking supported by open web steel joists, interior painted CMU, and gypsum board wall assemblies. The project will include installation of telecommunications infrastructure and cabling to support unclassified communications systems network. The work is required at the117th Air Refueling Wing Sumpter Smith National Guard Base, 5401 East Lake Bld. Birmingham, Alabama, 35217. The contract duration is 395 calendar days after Notice to Proceed. This project is set aside 100% for Small Business. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 236220 which equates to a size standard of $45,000,000.00. Project magnitude is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. The tentative date for issuing the solicitation is on-or-about July 26, 2024. The tentative date for the pre-bid conference is on-or-about August 06, 2024, 10:00 am local time, the location to be provided in the solicitation. This is NOT a Request for Proposal or Invitation for Bid; this is for Market Research purposes only, to assist the Alabama Air National Guard to gain knowledge of potential Construction Contractors. This sources sought is intended to identify Small-Business entities capable of performing this project. The scope of this project includes the construction of a new Security Forces Facility at Sumpter Smith Joint National Guard Base (SSJNGB), Birmingham, AL. The facility will consist of approximately 11,500 square feet that will include offices, classrooms,and climate controlled storage. A parking area, site work, utilities, demolition of existing buildings and landscaping are included as part of the project scope. Exterior features of the project include a standing seam insulated roof panel system, brick veneer and accent masonry block or cut stone. Structural features will include a slab on grade with typical reinforcement and CMU load bearing walls. Mechanical systems will include VAV air handler units, chiller, pumps and boiler. A sprinkler system will be required a part of this project. Electrical system components will correspond with 208Y/120 Volt, 3 Phase, Four wire at 60 Hz. Telecommunication, Fire Alarm and Mass notification systems will be installed as described on the design documents. The proposed North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 236220, which has a corresponding Size Standard of $39.5M. the Poject Magnitude is $5,000,000 to $10,000,000 .
