J&A, Control No. 2018-03-80, was approved by the Senior Procurement Executive (SPE) on 29 July 2019 for the new acquisition of the Switchblade Weapon System (SWS) on an other than full and open competitive basis pursuant to the authority of Title 10, U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1) as implemented by FAR Par 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii)(A)&(B) and (iii)(A)&(B), Only One Responsibe Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The Switchblade Hardware Production contract, W31P4Q-20-C-0024, was awarded on 30 April 2020 for a base period of one year and includes two option years. The SWS is the current solution for the Lethal Miniature Aerial Missile Systems (LMAMS), allowing the warfighters to engage targets with a small, single operator, man-portable, precision guided loitering munition that can benstealthily used in day or night conditions and create minimal collateral damage.
