The U.S. Army intends to award a sole-source contract to Barrett Firearms Manufacturing Inc. for the MK 22 Precision Sniper Rifle, accessories, spare parts, special tools, and training. The contemplated contract is a five-year, firm-fixed-price requirements contract. Market research found Barrett’s MK 22 was the only product able to meet the purchase description, and other sources would create substantial unrecovered duplication of cost. The anticipated award is planned for late 1st to early 2nd Quarter of FY27. Although this is not an RFP, responsible sources that believe they can meet the requirements may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation for agency consideration.
