Direct View Optics, Aiming Lasers, and Mounting Hardware

Notice ID:W15QKN26X1CF1

The U.S. Army Project Manager – Soldier Lethality is issuing a follow-up Request for Information to vendors who responded to a prior market survey, seeking additional technical data on direct view optics and aiming lasers for shoulder-fired weapons in support of a potential future Small Arms Fire Control acquisition. Vendors are asked whether they can provide up to 50 bid samples for evaluation, what quantity they could offer, and the timeframe for sample delivery, with a warning that samples may be damaged during rigorous or destructive testing. For red dot and holographic sights, the Army requests details on optical center line, compatibility with the FWS-I clip-on enabler, parallax-free distance, light shrouds, mounting for laser filter units and anti-reflectance devices, passive aiming references, and a coyote brown finish. For aiming lasers, they ask about pointer/illuminator timeout durations, laser co-alignment of 0.3 mRad or better, an eye-safe mode for force-on-force training, and a coyote brown finish. This RFI is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a formal solicitation or guarantee of future acquisition.
