Army Contracting Command - New Jersey (ACC-NJ) on behalf of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Armaments Center (CCDC-AC) Life Cycle Supportability Division (LCSD) intends to issue a sole source Request for Quote to SDL Inc., 201 Edgewater Drive Suite 225, Wakefield, MA 01880-6216, CAGE 4UYH9, pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 for XMetal Author V15 Software Licenses which they are the only authorized reseller for this software and the associated support. This purchase is to procure the software to create/maintain technical publications for the warfighter using Darwin Information Type Architecture (DITA) standards. There are no other authorized vendors for this software. The resultant contract shall be awarded as a twelve (12) month, Firm Fixed Price, commercial contract utilizing FAR Part 12 streamlined procedures. The applicable NAICS Code for this is 511210. This effort is to obtain XMetaL Author Enterprise licenses for the purpose of tagging XML documents using DITA standards to produce Technical Manuals and publications for the war-fighter. The requested version of software will replace an existing version currently in use. The software will be utilized by technical publications writers and associated staff. JustSystems Canada Inc is currently the only vendor providing XMetal software support. THIS SYNOPSIS DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ). Further, this synopsis does not guarantee of a future RFQ and should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the U.S. Government.
