52 Caliber Vendor Engineering Services For the US Propelling Charge & Primer Evaluation
This is a market survey to identify vendors capable of providing 155mm propelling charges and percussion primers, along with testing and engineering services, for compatibility evaluation in the 52-caliber howitzer (Mobile Tactical Cannon). The effort will use a 23-liter chamber for evaluation, with a government Propelling Charge & Primer Evaluation planned in FY27 and live-fire testing likely at Yuma Proving Ground, notionally in late-FY27. Interested vendors must submit responses covering company information, technical solution details, maturity levels, modeling predictions, experience, hardware availability, and engineering services, including initial modeling (4-8 weeks), pre-live-fire support (4-8 weeks), and live-fire support (6-10 weeks). The contracting office is at Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey, and vendors must be registered in SAM; the survey is for planning purposes only and does not constitute an RFP. Access to appendices requires submission of signed DD Form 2345, AMSTA-AR Form 1350, and a Non-Disclosure Agreement.
