Fire Extinguisher Maintenance & Services – Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ (JB MDL) This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts or request for quotations. The purpose of this notice is to obtain the following information: (1) The availability and capability of qualified sources; (2) Whether they are a small or large business relative to their size classification under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for the proposed acquisition (811310), "Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment (except Automotive and Electronic) Repair and Maintenance" with a small business size standard of $8,000,000.00. (3) Product Supply Code: H312 – Inspection – Fire Control Equipment The U. S. Army Contracting Command - New Jersey is issuing this Sources Sought Notice in an effort to perform market research to assist in determining the appropriate acquisition strategy for fire extinguisher maintenance and services to be performed at multiple locations on the Joint Base MDL, NJ 08640 in support of the United States Army Support Activity (USASA). The Government intends to award a single firm-fixed-price requirements contract as a result of the solicitation to be issued. The expected period of performance is one 12-month base period and four 12-month option periods from the date of award. The USASA requires annual inspections and maintenance services for portable fire extinguishers located in multiple Army mission buildings on JB MDL. Services shall include; but not be limited to, replacing broken seals, replacing pull pins, updating service tags, hydro-test gas cylinder and replacement of valve assembly, new O-ring and recharge. This contract is mission essential for continuing safety of fire extinguishers located in Army mission buildings. All work shall be performed by a licensed fire extinguisher servicing agency and in strict accordance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 10. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, and transportation necessary to accomplish the work as specified in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS). Attached is a DRAFT PWS for planning purposes only, bill of materials/ furniture listing and office layout sketch for the area of performance. No solicitation documents exist at this time. Issuance of this notice does not constitute any obligation on the part of the Government to procure this requirement or to issue a solicitation. In addition, the Government is under no obligation to pay for information submitted in response to this notice and responses to this notice cannot be accepted as offers.
