IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF POTENTIAL OFFERORS TO MONITOR THE GPE FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION PERTAINING TO THIS REQUIREMENT.” PROGRAM BACKGROUND: The Government is seeking the industry’s availability to manufacture, produce, maintenance and service a Small Caliber Ammunition (SCA) Cartridge Inspection System (CIS) capable of gauging and inspecting small caliber ammunition. The system shall detect and remove nonconforming material (NCM) which includes; visual defects, critical splits, critical perforations, and dimensional nonconformities. The system shall be capable of feeding, handling, measuring, inspecting, accepting and rejecting 7.62mm x 51mm ammunition. The system shall also be capable of electronically storing, presenting and transmitting measurement and inspection data. VENDOR QUESTIONNAIRE: The purpose of this questionnaire is to obtain information from industry to assist in the market research. Major partners or suppliers Identify existing facilities, equipment and workforce (identify what percentage would be supporting this new effort and what additional resources would be required). Provide minimum and maximum monthly production rates of past production of same or similar items. Identify manufacturing, managing and engineering experience of like systems of equal or greater complexity. Identify lead time, including supplier/design qualification efforts and production ramp up time, to meet full capability for production and sustainment. Please provide any additional comments. This is a market survey for information only, and shall not be construed as a request for a proposal or as an obligation on the part of the US Government.
