The U.S. Army Contracting Command - New Jersey, on behalf of U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC), Weapons and Software Engineering Center (WSEC) at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, is conducting market research to identify capable sources for Portable Laser Bore Scope Inspection Systems (PLBIS) for use in large caliber (290mm) artillery systems. It is the responsibility of potential offerors to monitor the GPE for additional information pertaining to this requirement." BACKGROUND: The US Army has need for two Portable Laser Bore Scope Inspection Systems (PLBIS) for use in large caliber (290mm) artillery systems. The PLBIS shall be based on existing and proven 105mm, 120mm and 155mm PLBIS equipment used by other US Army proving grounds and laboratories. The PLBIS shall be capable of precision full bore cannon tube erosion and pitting profiling and laser-based measurement of smooth bore tubes with typical accuracy +/- 0.001 inch, full chamber cannon tube erosion profiling and laser-based measurement of smooth bore gun tubes with typical accuracy +/- 0.003 inch, and high resolution laser video imaging, material loss and erosion feature detection, and 3D modeling and analysis. The PLBIS-290mm shall be easily adaptable for future designs that may be larger than 290mm. The vendor will be required to provide installation services and training for Government personnel. The system should come with a warranty The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is 334516 with a Size Standard of 1,000 employees. The Product Service Code is 6635. Businesses of all sizes are encouraged to respond; however, each respondent must clearly identify their business size in their capabilities statement. SUBMISSION DETAILS: Each potential source is requested to provide the contract number(s), dollar value(s) and brief description of work previously or currently being performed, which specifically demonstrates the contractor's ability to successfully satisfy the requirements of the Technical Services. Firms shall also provide point of contact information, where available, for the efforts cited above.
