AGENCY: Department of the Army. ACTION: Notice and Request for Information (RFI). SUMMARY: This is an RFI ONLY and should not be construed as a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a commitment by the U.S. Government. The U.S. Army Contracting Command - New Jersey on behalf of the Project Manager Crew Served Weapons (PMCSW), located at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ is issuing this RFI to survey the market for potential firms with the capabilities and interest to produce a Direct View Optic (DVO) and mounting hardware for the Army. Desired design features of the DVO include: •- Mounting system compatible with MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny Rail •- Elevation and windage adjustment dials for zeroing the reticle •- 1-6x (threshold) 1-10x (objective) variable magnification •- Illuminated center aim point without the use of batteries •- Less than ten inches length •- Use AA, CR123, or CR2032 batteries for its power source. •- Ruggedized for Army use capable of passing MIL-STD-810G testing Firms/companies are invited to indicate their capabilities by providing specifications, brochures, manuals, reports, demonstration video and other technical data as well as identification of current customers. Interested companies should submit the following business information: •- Company Name and Address •- Cage Code •- DUNs Number •- Company business size by NAIC code •- Small Business Type (s), if applicable •- Point of Contact for questions and/or clarification •- Point of contact telephone Number, fax number, and email address •- Web page URL •- Teaming partners (if applicable) •- Non-Traditional or Traditional For each candidate DVO model provide: •- Brochures or other information relative to the performance, maintenance, and physical characteristics (e.g., size, weight, etc.) of the product •- Specifications and descriptions •- Environmental performance, if available, including •o Shock sensitivity •o Vibration sensitivity •o Moisture sensitivity •o Operating temperatures •o Storage temperatures •o Altitude specifications •o Ambient temperature reliability/durability •o Corrosive salt environment •o Sand/dust environment •o Water submergence •o Etc. •- Whether the item is off-the-shelf ready, or in development •- Availability date of the DVO. •- Cost of the DVO •- Delivery of the DVO(s) 30 days after award. •- Any additional comments. All responses shall be submitted electronically. Respondents are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information, sample hardware, or administrative costs incurred in the response to this RFI. All costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party's expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP or other solicitation (if any are issued). This is a market survey, not a pre-solicitation notice. There is no formal solicitation available at this time. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a pre-solicitation notice will be published. Respondents will not be notified of the results of this survey or results of information submitted.
