The Virology & Emerging Infections Department of the U.S. Naval Medical and Research Unit No. 6 (NAMRU-6) is seeking to purchase reagents for library preparation (first step of next generation sequencing) and laboratory reagents for serology procedures. Genomic DNA or amplicons from long-range PCR from human and animal samples will be library-prepared and sequenced in Illumina platforms (Miseq and MiniSeq), as part of the projects of next-generation sequencing (NGS) that are being developed at this command. The library preparation kit should perform the following steps in the same reaction: enzymatic fragmentation, size selection, end-repair, a-addition followed by an adapter ligation reaction. These adapters contain sequences essential for binding dual bar-coded libraries to a flow cell for sequencing, allowing for PCR amplification of adapter-ligated fragments and for binding of standard Illumina sequencing primers. The kit should generate high-quality whole genome libraries from a low DNA input (~10ng) for use on any Illumina platform in less than 3 hours from purified genomic DNA to sequencer-ready libraries. Libraries should be compatible with hybrid capture-based whole exome sequencing (WES) and targeted sequencing.
