The U.S. Army Futures Command, Combat Capabilities Development Command Aviation and Missile Center (AFC CCDC AvMC) is conducting multiple S&T programs for air target interceptors that could be vertically launched for optimal performance. It is envisioned that the interceptors might be launched using stored or generated gas and then pointed using jets or thrusters. The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to gather, from industry, information on possible methods and techniques for vertically launching and pointing missile concepts with a range of possible sizes. Examples of possible technologies that may be applicable include, but are not limited to; cold gas storage, hot gas generator, propulsion, thrust vector control, continuous hot gas thrusters, and discrete control thrusters. Other technologies and approaches can be considered.
