Commander Fleet Readiness Center (COMFRC) Patuxent River, MD 20670 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Cambell Grinder Company, 1226 E. Pontaluna RD, Spring Lake MI 49456 (Cage Code: 18278) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) South West, NAS North Island, CA has a requirement to repair and install service plus alignment to the Large Vertical Grinding Machine. The Contractor is to repair and then install the dresser motor, install grinding wheel then complete an alignment of the motor. The Contractor shall investigate any further discrepancies that would prevent normal operation and make further recommendations for additional repairs if necessary. The machine must meet all OEM settings and alignment standards and be fully operational. FRCSW Electronic Technicians troubleshooted the problem with the Large Vertical Grinding Machine and found the issue being the normal running of the MK5 dresser motor. The repair of this part is out of our artisans' scope and must be completed by the OEM. Also, once the motor is repaired OEM technical support is required to install the motor, grinding wheel and perform the alignment of the motor. Campbell Grinder Company is the OEM for this item and are fully qualified to perform all the listed repair services. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within two (2) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
