The Department of the Navy has issued a Request for Information (RFI)/Sources Sought notice for market research and planning purposes only; it is not a formal Request for Proposal or Request for Quotation. The Navy seeks to identify sources interested in and qualified to address a welding capability gap supporting ship repair and maintenance within the 7th Fleet Area of Responsibility, excluding Hawaii. The Government intends to evaluate capabilities and draft plans to determine the feasibility of awarding Firm-Fixed-Price contracts under FAR Part 12 for commercial products and commercial services. Interested parties may review draft requirements, propose tentative technical approaches, and provide high-level pricing and performance timelines.
