The government requires subscription services to use the SpaceX Starshield (Starlink) commercial network with its existing Starshield Tile and Tile Mini aviation-compatible terminals installed on aircraft. This requirement is being fulfilled through a Firm-Fixed-Price task order awarded to SpaceX under an approved Exception to Fair Opportunity. Publication of this exception was briefly deferred pending completion of internal security and policy reviews.
