The Government is conducting market research to identify sources capable of producing two Double Mixer converter configurations for the AN/ALQ-161 Electronic Warfare System on the B-1B aircraft. The items are an UP CONVERTER (NSN 5895-01-683-8777, P/N SM1138) at an estimated 54 each and a DOWN CONVERTER (NSN 5895-01-683-8776, P/N SM1137) at an estimated 36 each. A redesign and First Article Testing were successfully completed in 2024, and this requirement is for production of the approved configurations. DLA/AWB intends to award a sole source contract to OEM Spectrum Microwave (CAGE 60979), as the Government lacks the manufacturing-level Technical Data Package and Spectrum is the only known source with the necessary technical data and capabilities for compatibility with the higher-level assembly.
