ITEM DESCRIPTION The component of interest are Righthand Fan Cowl, NSN 1560-01-596-6401UC, Part Number 255-2281-501, TO 1C-5M-4-10 Fig: 4 Ind: 140, Lefthand Core Cowl, NSN 1560-01-595-5844UC, Part Number 224-2301-523, TO 1C-5M-4-10 Fig: 4 Ind: 6, NSN 1560-01-600-9158UC, Part Number 255-2101-501, TO 1C-5M-4-10 Fig: 3 Ind: 1,Inlet Cowl and Righthand Core Cowl Assembly, NSN 1560-01-592-5910UC, Part Number 224-2302-547, TO 1C-5M-4-10 Fig: 4 Ind: 7, on the C-5 aircraft, whose primary functions are to enclose different portions of the engine and direct airflow. IMPEDIMENT TO COMPETITION The original equipment manufacturer for this item is Rohr, Inc., CAGE: 51563. The Government does not own any data, drawings, schematics, or any other releasable technical data in support of this requirement. As a result, Rohr, Inc. is the only known source with adequate knowledge of the C-5 Cowls’ performance requirements and possession of the required technical data and capabilities needed to produce this item and ensure compatibility of the equipment. INTEREST The DLA/AWB Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract to Rohr, Inc. for the manufacture of the cowls listed above in support of the C-5 program. Other interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 9 Sep 2025 by emailing Brooke Whitford, Brooke.whitford.3@us.af.mil, and Victor Henderson, victor.henderson.2@us.af.mil. The Government intends to procure these items using Other Than Full and Open Competition as prescribed by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.
