SUBJECT Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of PR# FD2060-25-00079. ITEM DESCRIPTION The Mid-Fuselage and AFT Escape Hatches provide crew members an escape point in emergency situations. Located at the top center and top rear of the aircraft, respectively. The Mid-Fuselage Escape Hatch also allows crew members to depressurize the aircraft in emergency situations. IMPEDIMENT TO COMPETITION The original equipment manufacturer for this item is Lockheed Martin (CAGE 98897), which maintains its configuration by part number and software version. The Government does not own any data, drawings, schematics, or any other releasable technical data in support of this requirement. As a result, Lockheed Martin is the only known source with adequate knowledge of the AFT Escape Hatch and Mid-Fuselage Escape Hatch performance requirements and possession of the required technical data and capabilities needed to produce this item and ensure compatibility of the equipment. INTEREST The DLA/AWB Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract to Lockheed Martin in support of the C-130 program.
